Oued Zem Kilim (Meryem)

This striking kilim from Oued Zem, a city in the Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco, was hand-loomed from cream coloured wool, on a cotton warp.  Natural dyes were used for the beautiful saffron coloured embroidered Berber motifs.  It’s a light-weight piece that can be used on the floor, but also as a bed or sofa covering, or as a magnificent piece of art on an expansive wall.  Measures approximately 8’ x 5’, with a slight 2.5”  fringe on one end.
