Oued Zem Kilim (Nadia)

This striking kilim from Oued Zem, a city in the Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco, was hand-loomed from natural wool, on a cotton warp, and embroidered with Berber motifs from henna-dyed wool.  It’s a light-weight piece that can be used on the floor, but also draped over the back of a sofa or favourite armchair, or as a lovely tapestry for the wall. Measures approximately 3’ x 4’10”, with 3” braided tassels on one end and a slight 1” fringe on the other end.
