This plush vintage Moroccan rug, circa early 1990’s, was handmade in the High Atlas Mountains using naturally dyed wool. With its palette of subdued purples, oranges, and turquoise, it is very easy on the eye. The Berber lozenge motifs are symbolic for warding off evil, but can also represent female attributes and fertility. Without knowing the stories of the women who made them, they make for interesting interpretation. This rug makes a cozy addition to a bedroom, living room or den. Measures approximately 3’9” x 5’8”, with a 1” fringe on one end.
This is both a vintage piece and a handcrafted item and, as such, may show signs of wear and may have 'perfect imperfections'. We believe such imperfections add to the unique character and charm of each piece.
