This striking round wood tray was hand-crafted by a skilled artisan in the port city of Essaouira. Made predominantly from thuya wood, it also has some lemonwood accents. Measures 12.25” in diameter x 1.75” tall.
Thuya wood is a rare wood that comes from coniferous trees indigenous to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. What is especially interesting is that the coveted wood comes from the burl buried in the ground, and not from the trunk. Thuya wood is known for its cedar-like aroma, luxurious colour, and swirly grain.
