Oued Zem Kilim (Layan)

This striking kilim from Oued Zem, a city in the Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco, was hand-loomed from natural cream wool, on a cotton warp, and embroidered with Berber motifs using naturally dyed wool.  It’s a light-weight piece that can be used on the floor, but also draped over the back of a sofa or favourite armchair, or as a lovely tapestry for the wall. Measures approximately 5’ x 3’3”, with 2” braided tassels on one end.
