Oued Zem Kilim (Aicha)

This striking kilim from Oued Zem, a city in the Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco, was hand-loomed from wool, on a cotton warp.  Natural cream wool was combined with naturally dyed green wool (using mint), to achieve a dynamic colour blocking design.  This is a light-weight piece that can be used on the floor, but also as a bed or sofa covering, or as a magnificent piece of art on an expansive wall.  Measures approximately 5’ x 7’8”, with a slight 3” fringe on one end.
